Three New Officers Join Manalapan Police Department
Officers Valerie Vacchiano, Thomas Butz join Manalapan Police Department, along with Special Class II Officer Connor Kelly.

MANALAPAN, NJ — The township Police Department has added three more officers to its ranks recently, including two patrol officers and one special officer.
Officer Valerie Vacchiano was hired as a full-time police officer effective Jan. 9.
Vacchiano was a Class II Special Law Enforcement Officer with Manalapan beginning in September of 2022. Before that, she worked for the Sea Girt Police Department after completing the Monmouth County Police Academy in June 2022. She was also a dispatcher with the Wall Township Police Department, Capt. Leonard Maltese said.

Officer Thomas Butz and Special Class II Officer Connor Kelly were sworn in Feb. 8.
"We are still in the process of recruiting additional personnel for Class II SLEO positions, as well as full-time officers, in anticipation of several impending retirements," he said.
