Pole Fire Closes Tennent Road In Manalapan: Police

MANALAPAN, NJ — A pole fire has closed Tennent Road in both directions, Manalapan Police Deputy Chief Michael Hoppock told Patch.
Township officials announced the road closure around 7 a.m. on Thursday. In their announcement, the town said Tennent Road near Church Lane was closed in both directions due to a downed utility pole.
As of Thursday morning, Hoppock said the cause of the pole fire is unknown, and the road is still closed in both directions. It's currently unknown how long the road will remain closed as repairs still need to be made, Hoppock said.

For those who need access to Manalapan High School, officials are asking drivers to enter at Route 522/Church Lane. Police will be on scene to direct traffic in and out.
Residents have also reported power outages in the area, township officials said.

According to the JCP&L outage tracker, there's currently one damaged circuit affecting customers. Township officials are urging those affected to report outages to JCP&L and report any downed wires to JCP&L or Manalapan Police.
