Resident's Car Taken Without Permission: Manalapan Police
Among various instances of theft reported last week in Manalapan, one involved a car, later recovered, taken without permission.
MANALAPAN, NJ — There were several thefts reported in the township last week, including by someone whose car was taken without permission.
On Sunday, July 30, a township resident, 55, told police that a 50-year-old Manahawkin resident took the victim’s vehicle without consent. The vehicle was then recovered by the Stafford Township Police Department. Patrolman Edward Burns handled the report.

- On Saturday, July 29, a township resident, 54, reported that an unknown person removed tools, valued at approximately $1,000, from the driveway of a Fawn Run residence. Patrolman Justin Barbuto handled the report.
- On Monday, July 31, a township resident, 67, told police an unknown person removed a credit card and $130 in cash from their wallet while it was secured in a locker at the Jersey Strong Gym, 300 Gordons Corner Road in Manalapan. Patrolman Michael DeCristofaro handled the report.
- On Wednesday, July 26, a township resident, 41, reported that an unknown person stole a purse at the Manalapan Township Recreation Center, Route 522 in Manalapan, and attempted to make online purchases using the victim’s credit card. Patrolman Christopher Capuzzo handled the report.
- On Wednesday, July 26, a township resident, 56, told police that an unknown person, purporting to be a Pay Pal representative, defrauded the victim in the amount of $490. Patrolman Thomas Butz handled the report.
All incidents are being investigated by police.
