Star Wars at the Monmouth County Library Saturday

Bring the kids to meet Darth Vader at the library off Symmes Drive in Manalapan.

Are your kids Star Wars fans? Or perhaps you are? The 501st Legion will be coming to the Monmouth County Library in Manalapan this Saturday, Dec. 5 in full Stars Wars costumes and in character. This means your child (or you) can have their photo taken with a Storm Trooper, a Sith Lord or perhaps even Princess Leia or Darth Vader (waiting to see if they are confirmed for Saturday). They will also be at the West Long Branch library on Monday, Dec. 7 at 6:30 p.m.

The 501st Legion is a national cosplay (costume-play) group that goes to different non-profits around the country in Stars Wars regalia. They will be at the library from 11 a.m. onwards Saturday, so get there early! The library also just got a huge new shipment in of Star Wars books for children, a library employee tells Patch. Also, on Wednesday Dec. 9 the Manalapan library will host a Star Wars trivia contest that begins at 6:30 p.m. That is geared towards older teens and adults, organizers say, and is based on the original trilogy.
