State Trooper Injured After Swerving Off Road In Upper Freehold
Trooper driving an unmarked troop car on I-195 in Upper Freehold Monday veered off the road, hit trees. Trooper treated for minor injuries.
UPPER FREEHOLD, NJ — A state trooper driving an unmarked troop car was involved in a single-car accident on I-195, state police confirmed.
Based on a preliminary investigation, at approximately 8:33 a.m. Monday, Oct. 2, a trooper was operating the unmarked troop car westbound on I-195 at milepost 13.1 in Upper Freehold when the accident happened, state police said.
The car veered off the left side of the road, then re-entered the roadway before veering off the right side and climbing an embankment, ultimately colliding with multiple trees, according to state police.

The trooper sustained minor injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital, state police said.
The incident is under investigation, according to Det. Jeffrey Lebron, Office of Public Information for the New Jersey State Police.
