Manalapan Police reported six incidents involving theft from Aug. 6 to Aug. 12.
MANALAPAN, NJ — Manalapan Police reported incidents of theft, fraud, harassment and more from Aug. 6 to Aug. 12.
Aug. 6
Two unidentified women shoplifted about $580.29 worth of merchandise from Target.
A 59-year-old Manalapan resident reported receiving harassing text messages from a person they had just met online. No criminal complaints were signed.

Around 5:30 p.m., a 40-year-old Manalapan resident reported that someone they did not know unlawfully entered their home around 5 a.m. on Aug. 6, then left about 5-10 minutes later. There was nothing reported to be missing or damaged, and the incident was recorded on video surveillance. Through a police investigation, the person involved was identified as a 39-year-old Manalapan resident who had accidentally entered their neighbors’ home. No criminal complaints were signed.
A 37-year-old Manalapan resident reported that they placed an order online for the purchase of a $1,250 handbag and subsequently received an empty box upon its delivery.

Aug. 9
A 75-year-old Manalapan resident reported that someone they did not know, posing as an online vehicle salesman, defrauded them, resulting in the loss of $83,285.
A 41-year-old Manalapan resident reported a fraudulent attempt by someone to open credit using their social security number. The attempt was declined by the bank, and the resident is at no monetary loss at this time.
Aug. 10
A 59-year-old Manalapan resident reported that someone scratched their vehicle and damaged a PVC fence that leads to their backyard.
Around 2:33 a.m., Patrolman James Guarino conducted a traffic stop on Route 9 South for observed motor vehicle violations. During the stop, the driver of the vehicle was found to be operating a vehicle while under the influence of alcohol. He was arrested and processed at Manalapan Township Police Headquarters before being released on a court summons.
Two unidentified men shoplifted about $2,012 worth of merchandise from Best Buy.
Aug. 11
A 48-year-old Manalapan resident reported that their vehicle was unlawfully taken from their driveway. The vehicle was valued at $10,000.
A 44-year-old Manalapan resident reported that someone they did not know opened a Verizon mobile account using their credentials.
A 37-year-old Manalapan resident reported that someone they did not know opened up a Truist Bank Account using their credentials. The victim reported no monetary loss.
Aug. 12
A 41-year-old Manalapan reisdent reported that someone they did not know took their mailbox out of the ground, valued at $200.
