MANALAPAN, NJ — Manalapan Police reported incidents of theft, harassment, fraud and more from Oct. 9 through Oct. 14.
Oct. 9
Around 4 a.m., someone entered a Manalapan business and tried to steal several cartons of cigarettes from the store. They were unable to leave the store with any merchandise.
A 79-year-old Manalapan resident reported that their vehicle, described as a yellow 2002 Thunderbird, was stolen, along with their wallet, overnight.

A 64-year-old Manalapan resident said they were a victim of fraud after someone opened a Wells Fargo debit account in their name without them knowing. The case is pending further investigation.
Oct. 11
A 55-year-old Manalapan resident reported being harassed by someone they did not know on their cell phone, and said they were a victim of a fraudulent email, where they reported a monetary loss of $98.83.

Oct. 14
A 45-year-old Manalapan resident reported a fraudulent transaction on their bank account, which they were made aware of through an email from their bank. The resident is at a monetary loss of $450 at this time.
A 60-year-old Manalapan resident and their business partner reported that someone they knew stole money from their business. The money was given for investment purposes, but never returned. The business is at a monetary loss of $125,750.
A 30-year-old employee of a Manalapan business reported that they were receiving terroristic threats from a 79-year-old Manalapan resident. The victim was advised of the procedure to sign complaints.
A 37-year-old Manalapan resident reported that an unknown phone number sent unwanted, sexually explicit text messages to their cell phone. The person later requested the victim to pay for their monthly rent payment. The victim is currently at no monetary loss.
