Water Now Safe To Drink In Manalapan, Tests Show
Veolia water company lifts a boil water advisory for 3,000 customers in Manalapan after water main is repaired, tests come back clean.
MANALAPAN, NJ — A water main break in the Veolia water system here has been repaired and the customers of the system are no long under a boil water advisory, the company said.
Following the water main repair, Veolia collected water samples throughout the distribution system, and the test results showed that the drinking water quality meets all regulatory requirements, said company spokesperson Jane Kunka.
She said water quality testing shows that it is no longer necessary for Manalapan residents to boil their water for cooking and drinking within the Knob Hill and Lambs Lane public water systems.

The water test results were submitted to the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection for verification. Upon review of the laboratory data, the DEP has confirmed that it is no longer necessary for the approximately 3,000 Veolia customers to boil their water in the affected areas.
However, the company still recommends certain safety measures:

- Run your water faucets for 3-5 minutes to flush your service connection and interior plumbing with water from the service main.
- Empty and clean your automatic ice makers and water chillers.
- Drain and refill your hot water heater if the temperature is set below 113 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Service connections with a water softener/cartridge filters should be run through a regeneration cycle or other procedures recommended by the manufacturer.
- Water reservoirs in tall buildings should be drained and refilled (as applicable).
