2 Cars Stolen, Homes Broken Into In Sea Girt Saturday Night

Two cars were stolen and homes were broken into over the weekend in Sea Girt:

SEA GIRT, NJ — Two cars were stolen and homes were broken into over the weekend in Sea Girt, police in that town announced Sunday.

Sea Girt Police say all the thefts are believed to have taken place between the late night hours of Saturday into the early morning hours of Sunday. The cars were stolen and homes broken into on Washington Blvd. and Crescent Parkway.

Police did not release any further immediate details about what kind of cars were stolen, or how the homes were broken into, but Patch has asked.

"We kindly request the public's help in reviewing camera footage from 10 p.m. on December 21 until 5 a.m. on December 22 across the town," Sea Girt Police posted to their Facebook page Sunday. "If you find any suspicious footage, please share it with us at zsherman@seagirtpd.net"

They reminded residents to always lock their cars, close the windows and do not leave key fobs in cars and keep key fobs away from entry doors. "Additionally, avoid leaving valuables visible inside your vehicle, as this can attract thieves."
