MANASQUAN, NJ — Two residents from Manasquan are competing in the Pan-Mass Challenge this week. And one of them is a 13-year-old boy.

The Pan-Mass Challenge is a bike-a-thon across Massachusetts with one- and two-day routes from 25 to 210 miles. It takes place this Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 6 and 7.

Manasquan residents Jeffrey Brown and Nicholas Papa are one of the 43 New Jersey residents participating. More than 6,000 riders total will participate. Brown is only 13 and he's doing the intense ride; here is his fundraising page: https://profile.pmc.org/JB0353

Last year, the bike race raised more than $66 million for cancer research and patient care at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. In 2022, bicyclists hope to break that record. The Pan-Mass Challenge is the nation's single most successful athletic fundraiser, donating 100 percent of every rider-raised dollar to Dana-Farber as its largest single contributor.
