45th Annual Belmar 5 To Take Place This Saturday

BELMAR, NJ – The 45th annual Belmar Five race will be taking place this Saturday, Sept 4. The race is presented by the Goodwill Hose Company and the Jersey Shore Running Club.

There will be kids races and fireworks at Silver Lake Park on Friday, Sept. 3. at 6:30 p.m., with the big race starting at 8 a.m.

One hour before race time on Sept. 4, all of Ocean Avenue, North Blvd, and 5th through 9th Avenues from Ocean Avenue to Main Street will be closed to all vehicular traffic until the race’s end. There will be delays while the runners are on the course, and anyone needing to leave from areas that will be closed is asked to travel westbound towards Main Street.

Online registration is closed, but you can still register for the race at the race’s bib and t-shirt pick-up location at Silver Lake Park on Ocean Ave from 5 to 8 p.m. on Friday and 6:30 to 7:45 a.m. the morning of the race.

There will be a post-race party at Bar Anticipation in Lake Como, with $6 Bloody Specials, a complimentary BBQ (must show your race bib), and entertainment. There will also be team awards and random prizes, including gift cards donated by local merchants given away along with two bicycles compliments of Budweiser.
