Arrest In Probe Of Multiple Monmouth County Burglaries
Police say they've made an arrest in an ongoing investigation of multiple burglaries in Monmouth County.
MONMOUTH COUNTY – Police say they've made an arrest in an ongoing investigation of multiple burglaries in Monmouth County.
Leamon Washington, 48, of Wall Township has been charged with several offenses in connection with burglaries in the Ocean Township area, police said.
The arrest happened on April 4th at approximately 4:13 a.m. when officers responded to Danny’s Place, located at 2104 Sunset Ave., for an alarm. Once on the scene, responding officers determined that a burglary had occurred at that location.

The front door to the business had been shattered and entry had been made, police said.
The suspect attempted to open the cash register but was unsuccessful and left the area, police said. The incident was captured on video surveillance.

A short time later, officers located the suspect at the Tower Motel, located at 1108 Route 35. The suspect initially provided officers with inaccurate information and then attempted to flee the scene, police said.
The suspect, who was ultimately identified as Leamon Washington, was subsequently apprehended, police said.
Information was later developed during the course of the investigation that linked Washington to another burglary that occurred on March 26th at The Fluff and Fold Laundromat located at 1111 Route 35.
Washington was charged with burglary, possession of burglar’s tools, criminal mischief, obstructing the administration of law, hindering his own apprehension and resisting arrest.
