Authorities Identify Manasquan Man Killed On Train Tracks

Matthew McNulty was hit Monday evening by a NJ Transit North Jersey Coast Line train

MANASQUAN, NJ - A NJ Transit spokesman has released the identity of the man fatally hit by a train on the North Jersey Coast Line on Monday night.

Matthew McNulty, 35, was struck around 7:26 p.m., said NJ Transit spokesman James Smith.

The circumstances of McNulty's death will be determined by the Monmouth County Medical Examiner, he said.

"It's still under investigation," Smith said. "A determination about whether it was a suicide or not will be made by the county medical examiner's office."

Service was temporarily suspended between Bay Head and Asbury Park after the accident. No one on the train was injured.

NJ Transit police are still investigating the incident, he said.
