A favorite October tradition for Belmar residents, the annual Halloween Contest and Parade brings out the kid in all of us! Children, infants through grade 8, can dress up and compete for prizes in different categories for their age group.After the contest, the Belmar Elementary School Band strikes it up and leads the parade down to Pyanoe Plaza where the winners are awarded their prizes. Treats are given to those who register for the contest and a ghoulish time is had by all!The Belmar Halloween Parade and Contest will be held on October 26. Registration will take place from 11 a.m.-12 p.m. at the Recreation Gym, 601 Main Street. The parade will start promptly at noon.
