The Belmar Pro Surf Comp Returns After Pandemic Layoff
Surfers and bodyboarders from all over will flock to one of the East Coast's most premier surf contests.
BELMAR, NJ – The Belmar Pro surf contest returns to Belmar's 17th Avenue beach from Sept. 9 to 12. Surfers and bodyboarders from all over the world are heading to Belmar to participate in the weekend-long event.
The contest, sponsored this year by Playa Bowls, features the following events throughout the weekend:
- FINS Men's Open
- Playa Bowls Women's Open
- Blue Moon Longboard Open
- Creatures of Leisure Masters Open (35-49)
- SRH Legends Open (50 & Up)
- Custom X Pro Bodyboard Open
- Snot Nose Wax Women's Bodyboard Open
This is the first year that the Belmar Pro is featuring a woman’s bodyboarding contest, and two of the top female bodyboarders in the world, Ayaka Suzuki from Japan and Valentina Diaz from Chile, will be competing in the inaugural contest.

The official Belmar Pro party is back as well on Sept. 11 at 8 p.m. at 10th Ave Burrito with music from Lance-O and Los Gringos.
