Coastal Flood Warning Over For Manasquan, Belmar [UPDATES]

And "no further flooding is expected" for the areas.

The coastal flood warning that was in effect for Manasquan and Belmar was cancelled Sunday afternoon by the National Weather Service.

Water levels peaked Sunday morning, following a blizzard that dumped up to 22 inches in parts of Monmouth County.

The National Weather Service said that no further flooding is expected in New Jersey.

The storm’s powerful coastal winds, coupled with the high tide from the full moon, made for flood waters that ran through the streets of Manasquan.

Limited power outages were reported near Stockton Lake Blvd., 1st Ave., Fletcher Ave and Main Street, and the Manasquan Office of Emergency Management said that, “A repair crew has been dispatched this morning and will progressively work to restore power to those affected.”

Those without power or heat can go to First Baptist Church of Manasquan for breakfast and to wait out the storm.

In Belmar, the city’s dunes held up during high tide. Drone footage showed just one break along the coastline.

“Belmar is in great shape this morning!” Belmar Mayor Matt Doherty said. “It pays to prepare. Now we shovel snow...and sled with kids.”

Belmar Elementary School will be closed Monday.
