Coastal Monmouth County Beach Report For June 1, 2017
Sunny skies today, but the water is still cold and the rip current risk is moderate, according to the National Weather Service

It could be a decent beach day, if you don't mind chilly water.
The National Weather Service is calling for mostly sunny skies, with areas of patchy fog. Air temperatures will be in the upper 70s. Winds will be from the west at five miles per hour, kicking up to 15 miles per hour in the afternoon.
Waves will be about four feet high, with easterly swells around two feet. The surf temperature is still a chilly 58 degrees.

There's a moderate risk of rip currents today. Check with lifeguards today and discuss local conditions before if you are planning to swim. Always swim within sight of a lifeguard and never swim alone or at night. The NWS suggests you bring a flotation device in the water with you.
The ultraviolet index is an 8, which the NWS considers very high. There is no lightning threat.
Low tide at Belmar was at 7:47 a.m. High tide will arrived at 2:02 p.m, followed by another low tide at 8:07 p.m..
