Expect mostly sunny skies until 1 p.m., when skies begin to cloud over.

If you're thinking about heading to the beach, you'd better go now.

The National Weather Service is calling for mostly sunny skies until 1 p.m., when skies begin to cloud over. The high temperature will be around upper 60s. Winds will be from the west at 5 miles, switching over to the south around 15 miles per hour.

The rip current risk for today is low, but rips can still occur near jetties and other structures. Always have a flotation device with you in the water.

Waves will be 2 to 3 feet, with easterly swells around 2 feet. The surf temperature is a chilly 60degrees.There is no lightning threat.

The ultraviolet index for today is an 8, which the NWS considers very high, so bring the sunscreen.

Low tide at Belmar is expected at 10:25 a.m. High tide will arrive at 4:43 p.m., followed by another low tide at 10:57 p.m.
