Coastal Monmouth County Beach Report For June 6, 2017

Showers, patchy fog and brisk winds do not make for a great beach day.

The National Weather Service is calling for a washout of a beach day.

Skies will be cloudy, with patchy fog. Showers and drizzle are likely. The high temperature will be around 60. Winds will be from the northeast at 10 to 15 miles per hour.

There's a moderate risk of rip currents, so check with lifeguards before you go in. Always bring a flotation device with you in the water and never swim alone or at night. There is no lightning threat.

Waves will be about four feet high, with northeast swells of three feet. The water temperature is still a chilly 59 degrees. The ultraviolet index is a 5.

High tide at Belmar was 5:49 a.m. Low tide will arrive at 11:51 a.m., followed by another high tide at 6:16 p.m.
