Coastal Monmouth County Beach Report For May 28, 2017

Partly sunny skies and chilly temperatures will prevail today. There's a coastal flood advisory issued for high tide tonight.

The National Weather Service is calling for partly sunny skies today with temperatures in the mid-sixties, so swimming might have to wait for a few more weekends.

The rip current risk is low. But they can still occur near jetties and other structures. The NWS still suggests you bring a floatation device with you in the water. The water temperature is only 58 degrees.

Waves will be around two feet, with southern swells. Offshore waves will be from three to four feet. Winds will be from the southeast at five to ten miles per hour. There's a coastal flood advisory from 9 p.m. tonight to until 3 a.m. on Monday. Minor tidal flooding is expected during tonight's high tide.

Bring the sunscreen. The UV index is a 9, which the NWS considers very high. There is no lightning threat today.
High tide at Belmar arrived at 10:11 a.m. Low tide is expected at 4:05 p.m., followed by another high tide at 10:26 p.m.
