Coastal Monmouth County Beach Report For May 29, 2017

The National Weather Service is calling for a soggy end to Memorial Day weekend, with showers and cool temperatures.

The National Weather Service is forecasting a less than ideal day at the beach for the last day of Memorial Day weekend.

It will be cloudy with showers likely, with highs only in the lower 60s. Expect northeast winds from 10 to 15 miles per hour.

Waves will be higher today than the last few days, at four to five feet, with southeast swells of two to three feet. The water temperature is a chilly 59 degrees.

The rip current risk is low, but rips can still develop near jetties and other structures. The NWS suggests bringing a floatation device with you in the water.

If you're hoping for a tan, forget about it. The ultraviolet index is only a 2. There is no lightning threat.

High tide at Barnegat Inlet will arrive at 11:34 a.m. Low tide is expected at 5:41 p.m., followed by another high tide at 1:48 p.m.

There's a coastal flood advisory in effect from 10 a.m. tonight to 4 a.m. tomorrow.
