HOWELL, NJ — The Monmouth County DWI Task Force announced Thursday they will run two DWI checkpoints this coming weekend (July 7,8):The first checkpoint will be Friday night, July 7 in Howell. The checkpoint will run from 11 p.m. Friday to 3 a.m. Saturday morning. All northbound vehicles on Rt 9 will be diverted into the Regal Plaza parking lot.The second checkpoint will be Saturday, July 8 in Brielle. The checkpoint will run from 10 p.m. Saturday to 2 a.m. on Sunday morning. All southbound vehicles on Rt. 71 will be diverted into the Brielle municipal parking lot.Allenhurst Police Chief Michael Schneider is the Monmouth County DWI Task Force Coordinator.During both checkpoints, officers of both local departments will work alongside Task Force members to detect if drivers are under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs.
