Great White Shark Mary Lee Just 20 Miles Off The Coast Of Belmar

Mary Lee, the great white shark with more than 100,000 Twitter followers, is visiting roughly 20 miles off the coast of Belmar, according to nj. com.

The 16-foot, 3,500 pound great white began her northern journey earlier this week, when she was tracked roughly seven miles off Atlantic City. By Thursday, she was off Long Beach Island.

But she is still keeping her distance from any swimming areas.

The great white's travels are tracked by the nonprofit group OCEARCH, which offers real-time information on dozens of sharks.

Mary Lee has logged nearly 40,000 miles since being caught and tagged by the research group.
