Kneaded by Lady J 'Microbakery' Ready To Dish Out In Brielle

BRIELLE – Residents of Brielle and points beyond have a new source of baked delicacies at their fingertips.

Kneaded by Lady J is a “microbakery” of artisanal breads and other specialty items, which are as appealing to the eye as they are to the tastebuds, the shop says.

The bakery’s mission is to provide healthy, delicious, art-worthy bread in small batches to local clientele.

Kneaded by Lady J sprang up from a love of baking, a passion for creating new recipes – using the finest health-conscious ingredients – and for developing fresher versions of the types of breads, the shop says.

From day one, overwhelming support from the Brielle community and their continual requests and feedback have set the stage for an ever-expanding array of offerings yielded to reflect customers’ needs and desires.

The shop’s owner, Joyce Bagner Hetherington – known to us as “Lady J” – comes from an artist’s background. Hetherington was educated at the School of Visual Arts in New York City, where she focused on food photography.

Inspired by her mother, who was a talented artist and chief chef/owner of Blima’s Catering Facility in Hudson County, New York, Hetherington has merged her passions for artistry and food into a working vision for the future.

Achieving this dream keeps her connected spiritually and living through her mother’s legacy.

Born and raised in New York, Lady J now has a family of her own here in New Jersey.

Kneaded by Lady J provides small batch production of artisanal breads including her signature Sourdoughs, Challah Bread, French Baguettes, Focaccia gardens, Pretzels, Bagels & more.

Additional services also include: Charcuterie boxes & boards, Small Bites Catering for small groups and businesses, Private “Bake & Sip” Parties and Baking Classes.

Retail hours are currently Fridays from 2-6 p.m, Saturdays from 11 a.m to 4 p.m. and select “bonus” days and holidays. Orders can be placed online and via email & phone.
