Man Broke Into Dozens Of Cars In Spring Lake, Trespassed Through Backyards: Police
Spring Lake Police first received a 911 call at 4:07 a.m. July 7 that a man dressed in all black was seen in a backyard.
SPRING LAKE, NJ — A man from Elizabeth is charged with breaking into dozens of parked cars and trespassing through yards in Spring Lake earlier this July, said police in that town.
Spring Lake Police first received a 911 call at 4:07 a.m. July 7 that a man dressed in all black and carrying a flashlight was seen trespassing in the rear yard of a Pennsylvania Avenue home. Police responded and set up a perimeter in that area to apprehend the man.
Then at 5:07 a.m. a second call was received reporting that a man matching this description was seen entering an unlocked car on Salem Avenue.

At 5:57 a.m. Spring Lake Police made contact with the man near the Mercer Avenue train station. He was identified as Michael Correa-Galeno, 24, Elizabeth, and determined to be the suspect in the two reported incidents. Correa-Galeno was charged with burglary, trespassing and theft.
However, Spring Lake canvassed the neighborhood where the man was originally seen, which led to 22 more charges being filed against Correa-Galeno, including additional burglary, theft and trespassing offenses. He is facing similar charges in Matawan and Aberdeen, where police say he broke into parked cars in the early morning hours of June 29.
