Belmar Election 2022 Results: Buccafusco Defeats Walsifer

Here are the unofficial results in the Manasquan and Belmar school board races, plus the Belmar mayor and council races.

MANASQUAN-BELMAR, NJ — Belmar Mayor Brian Walsifer was voted out of office Tuesday night according to unofficial results for the Belmar mayoral and town council race.

Democrats were leading as of 11 p.m. last night, including in the race for mayor.

Current Belmar Mayor Mark Walsifer and Councilman James McCracken were running for re-election, joined by council candidate Katrina Clapsis. All three are Republicans.

The unofficial vote totals for mayor were: Walsifer, 1,184; Buccafusco, 1,305.

The unofficial vote totals for council were: Republicans McCracken, 1,192; Clapsis, 1,154. Democrats Rondinaro, 1,281; Levis, 1,302.

The Manasquan school board race unofficial results came in, too, plus the Belmar school board race, which was uncontested.

Belmar Mayor, Council:

Challengers Gerald Buccafusco (for mayor) and Maria Rondinaro and Mark Levis, all Democrats, were leading last night.

Manasquan Board of Education - Four running for three seats:

  • Thomas Pellegrino: 1,472
  • William H. Dibble: 1,118
  • Alfred J. Sorino, III: 1,244
  • Joseph A. Loffredo, Jr., "Trustworthy, Genuine, Loyal" : 1,385

Belmar Board of Education - Vote for Three

  • Cherie Adams - 1,149
  • Antoinette Raucci -1,206
  • Aileen Fahy - 1,270

Belmar Board of Education – Vote for One

  • Brian Conklin - 1,384
