Manhole Collapses On Rt. 71 In Belmar Monday Morning: DOT

BELMAR, NJ - A manhole on Route 71 northbound in Belmar collapsed Monday morning, authorities said.

As of 8:20 a.m., there’s a collapsed manhole on NJ 71 northbound at south of NJ 35 in Belmar., according to the New Jersey Department of Transportation.

All lanes are currently closed and detoured, the agency said. It was not immediately clear if any injuries were reported.

A request for comment from Belmar police was not immediately returned.
