Monmouth County Beach Report: Dangerous Rip Currents Forecast For Today
National Weather Service is forecasting waves of 4 to 5 feet.

MONMOUTH COUNTY, NJ - The National Weather Service is calling for sunny skies, cool temperatures and dangerous rip currents today.
You can still work on your tan, but stay out of the water. There's a high risk of rip currents. That means life-threatening conditions exist for anyone who decides to swim.
"People visiting the beaches should stay out of the high surf," the NWS says.

There are still beaches that will be guarded this weekend, but you'll have to search to find them. Island Beach State Park is guarded on weekends through the end of September. Whatever you do, don't swim on an unguarded beach. Never swim alone or at night.
Waves will be from 4 to 5 feet, with southeasterly swells of 2 to 4 feet. The ocean water temperature is 70 degrees. Winds will be from the north at 10 to 15 miles per hour

Highs today will be in the lower 70s. The ultraviolet index is a six, which the NWS considers high. There is no lightning threat today.
High tide at Belmar will roll in at 9:56 a.m. Low tide will arrive at 4:16 p.m, followed by another high tide at 10:21 p.m.
