MANASQUAN, NJ - The crew of a fishing boat rescued four boaters off the coast of the Jersey Shore Sunday after an apparent sinking.

The rescuers aboard the Gemini, a 56-foot sport fishing vessel, made the save in the Manasquan Inlet Sunday morning around 3 ½ miles off the coast, NJ.com reported.

The boaters of the sinking ship were already treading water without live jackets as the Gemini came to their rescue.

It’s unclear why the small boat took on water, but it sank “quickly,” Foster said, adding that all four individuals aboard appeared to be unharmed.

A New Jersey State Police vessel took the survivors to the shore at Shark River Inlet, NJ.com added. A spokesman for the U.S. Coast Guard told the outlet the no-name boat disappeared under the water "without a trace."
