It’s been in the making for some time now, but the new Ed Brown/Maclearie Park Playground is officially open!
On Saturday, at noon, Belmar marked the opening of the new playground with a ribbon-cutting ceremony. The location of the playground is top-notch, at the popular and scenic Belmar Marine on Route 35, surrounded by tennis courts, picnic areas with tables and grills, and, of course, the water!

Construction for the playground was paid for by a donation from the estate of Ed Brown, the popular and well-known local icon and aviator who was the founder of the Monmouth Executive Airport in Wall in 1938.
For months now, your kids have waited eagerly as they’ve seen progress on the playground when your family has driven on Route 35 past the construction- and now it’s open. Bundle them up nice and warm and head on over to enjoy it in the last few weeks before the snow season sets in!
