MANASQUAN – "We will beat this."

Those were some of the reassuring words of a popular Mansquan restaurant hours after the state shut down non-essential businesses amid the coronavirus outbreak.

Just two months ago, "Gordon Ramsay's 24 Hours to Hell and Back:" paid a visit to the Blend on Main restaurant in Manasquan in episode that aired Wednesday, Jan. 15, one that got the popular restaurant a lot of publicity.

Now Blend on Main is hoping that anyone and everyone will continue to pay attention to Manasquan's downtown amid the outbreak, even if it means getting some takeout.

"Food is my life. It's what brings people together, in good times and bad," Chef Lou said on Facebook. "It's the backdrop to all our crazy family stories. And it's the reason I open these doors every day.

Blend isn't just his restaurant, he said. "It's the home that smells and feels just like my grandma's kitchen. I was taught to always cook with love, and I'm more grateful than ever for that early lesson. I cook so I can remember the good times," he said.

"I cook so I can show my kids what real passion looks like. And I cook so I can make people smile. This is a hard time. We could all use a break at the end of the day.

"Come get a home cooked meal made with love. It could be the beginning of a great story!

"Love you all. We will beat this."
