3 Injured As Car, Van Collide At Manchester Intersection
Manchester police said one vehicle ran a stop sign, leading to the crash.

MANCHESTER, NJ — Three people were injured Wednesday in a crash between a car and a van on Beacon Street in Manchester, police said.
Jeisy Sofia Macario AJ, 31, of Virginia, was taken to Community Medical Center in Toms River suffering back pain after the crash that happened about 2:40 p.m. at the intersection of Beacon Street and Broadway Boulevard, Manchester Capt. Albert Vega said.
Also injured were two children who were passengers in a white 2016 Ford Transit van, Vega said.

the other v suffered a complaint of back pain. She was transported by ambulance to Community Medical Center. The driver of the Ford, identified as 62-year-old Francisco Matos of Lakewood, NJ, was transporting four juveniles at the time of the crash. The driver suffered no injuries from the crash. Two juvenile passengers were transported to a local area hospital for complaints of pain. The roadway was closed during the investigation and cleanup.
Macario was driving a silver 2011 Mazda 2 south on Beacon Street and ignored the stop sign at Broadway Boulevard, Vega said. As the car went into the intersection, it was hit in the driver's side by the Ford transit van, which was being driven west on Broadway by Francisco Matos, 62, of Lakewood, who had four children as passengers, Vega said.

The impact caused the Mazda to turn about 45 degrees, and it hit a mailbox then came to a rest on the front lawn of a home on Broadway, he said.
The van also rotated about 45 degrees and continued west, coming to a stop on the same front lawn as the Mazda, Vega said.
The injured children were taken to a hospital with complaints of pain, Vega said.
The road was closed during the investigation and cleanup, he said.
EMTs from the Manchester Township Division of Emergency Services, South Toms River EMS, firefighters from the Manchester Township Fire Department, and Priced Rite Towing responded.
Patrolman Sage Sysol of the department’s Traffic Safety Section is investigating.
