'A Helpful Example To All She Meets': Alexa, Manchester Star Student

We all know students who excel in academics, fine arts or volunteer service. Here's one local resident who's having an impact in Manchester.

Alexa is a pole vaulter and long jumper at Manchester High School and a straight-A student, her father said.

MANCHESTER, NJ — Star Students are found in classrooms, on concert and theater stages and at debate lecterns, and out in the community doing good things to make life better for all of us.

Here at Patch, we've launched an initiative to help recognize Star Students, and we’re working to tell the stories of these outstanding kids to their neighbors.

This submission comes from Scott, who nominated his daughter, Alexa, of Manchester.

Why do you believe the star local student should be recognized?

Alexa, who is a senior at Manchester, is the top pole vaulter in the school and is looking to take the school record. She is a 2nd degree black belt with Kum Sung Karate. She's earned straight As. She's a long jumper with a best of 15 feet, 6 inches. She looks to be a helpful example to all she meets.

What's one thing you want everyone to know about the star local student?

She is going to break the high school record for pole vaulting this year.

Congratulations on your achievements, and all of our best wishes to you in the future, Alexa!
