What's Closed for Monday, Dec. 26?

Since Christmas falls on a Sunday this year, many agencies and businesses are taking Monday as the holiday.

 

Sunday is Christmas Day. State and federal holidays are observed on Monday. Taking their cue from the fed, lots of local businesses and agencies will also be closed on Monday.

• State and local government offices will be closed on Monday — That includes Maplewood Town Hall and other town departments and offices. The Town will also observe a half-day on Friday, Dec. 30 and will be closed on Monday, January 2.
• Financial and stock markets will be closed on Monday.
• Courts will be closed on Monday.
• Post offices will be closed on Monday with no regular mail delivery.
• Banks will be closed on Monday.
• Public schools will be closed Monday.

• NJ Transit trains will run on a Sunday schedule on Christmas Day and on an enhanced weekend schedule on Monday. Early getaway service will be available Friday from New York Penn Station, Newark Penn Station and Hoboken Terminal starting at 1 p.m. on the Northeast Corridor, North Jersey Coast, Raritan Valley, Morris & Essex, Pascack Valley and Port Jervis lines. Bus schedules vary by route, and some routes may be affected. For details, refer to timetables or check the agency’s website at njtransit.com, or call (973) 275-5555.

• PATH trains will run on a Saturday schedule on both Sunday and Monday.
