Flood Watch in Effect for Weekend

National Weather Service is predicting up to four inches of rain in local areas.

With a weekend of rain ahead in the forecast, Maplewood and other Northern New Jersey towns are under another flood watch.

The National Weather Service is predicting anywhere from one to three inches for Northeast New Jersey, with a possilbilty of four inches locally.

"The expected rainfall could cause flooding of small streams...urban and poor drainage areas...and basements," according to the issued flood watch on NOAA.gov.

Steven Martino, a Patch blogger, who forecasts weather here, warns people to be prepared for flash flooding.

"Flash flooding will be a significant threat with this rain storm over the next several days."
