Gallery 1978 Hosts New Exhibition

Show features three New Jersey artists; opening reception is Saturday.

 

Gallery 1978 will host A Different Perspective, Abstract Painting, opening Saturday, March 3. The show will feature three of New Jersey's most notable abstractionists, Larry McKim, Peter S. Arakawa and Vivian McDuffie.  

Curated by Onnie Strother, the show kicks off with an opening reception on Saturday from 2 p.m. - 5 p.m., and closes with a closing reception on April 28.

The gallery will be open weekends from 2 -5 p.m. (except Sunday, March 31). 

According to the gallery's website, McKim, Arakawa and Mc Duffie are represented in major public and private collections, such as the Newark Museum, the New Jersey State Museum in Trenton and the James E. Lewis Museum of Art in Baltimore, MD. They share a passion for teaching. All are artist who approach their craft with a spirit of spontaneity and discovery.

20th Century master Wassily Kandinsky said, "Of all the arts, abstract painting is the most difficult. It demands that you know how to draw well, that you have a heightened sensitivity for composition and for colors, and that you be a true poet."
