Maplewood Nets $700K Grant To Restore Local Landmark (patch.com) — Maplewood has secured a $702,850 state historic grant to restore The Woodland, the landmark civic and cultural hub in Maplewood Village. Officials say the money will fund major structural and aesthetic upgrades to the Great Hall, and credit the Maplewood Historic Preservation Commission’s long-term planning for making the township eligible for this funding.
   

2. South Orange and Maplewood Public Schools Awarded State Grant for Phone-Free Schools Program (tapinto.net) — South Orange-Maplewood public schools just received a $28,257 state grant to support a new bell-to-bell, phone-free policy for students in grades 6–12. The funding will help pay for secure storage systems and staff training so phones stay put from arrival through dismissal, aiming to boost focus and student well-being in Maplewood classrooms.
   

3. Maplewood Police Blotter: Woman Charged Three Times with Criminal Trespassing at WaWa (villagegreennj.com) — Maplewood police report three separate criminal trespassing arrests of the same Newark woman at the WaWa on Springfield Avenue over three days, plus a warrant arrest during a traffic stop. Detectives also charged a Parsippany resident with multiple counts of criminal mischief after several vehicles were damaged in Maplewood Center.
