How Much Will It Cost To Run Maplewood In 2023? Find Out Next Week

MAPLEWOOD, NJ — It's that time again. Time for the town of Maplewood to find out just how much it has to spend on city salaries, insurance, and services. Last year, it was $53.1 million (see the user-friendly budget here) with a 5.4 percent tax increase.

The town budget is only one component of property taxes in New Jersey. The school and county budgets also have an effect.

So why not learn more about where your money goes in Maplewood?

The 2023 Maplewood Township Budget Hearings will take place via Zoom at 6 p.m. this coming Monday and Tuesday, Jan. 30 and 31.

The town will hear from department heads and others. Ultimately the budget will have to come to the Township Committee for a vote and subsequent final approval.

A separate budget hearing addressing Open Space Trust Fund projects will take place some time in February.
