MAPLEWOOD, NJ — The Maplewood Township Committee 2023 Reorganization meeting will take place via Zoom at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 1.

Typically, the five-member committee chooses a mayor and deputy mayor from among themselves on that day, and the person serves for a year.

Last year, new Mayor Dean Dafis was sworn in on New Year's Day.

This coming year, a new committee woman, Deb Engel, elected in November, will take office.

The newly reorganized Township Committee will then meet again on Tuesday, Jan. 3 for regular business.
