Maplewood Knit Shop's "Cast on Baby" Goes Viral

Knitknack on Springfield Avenue does a spin on "Call Me Maybe"

 

With the "Call Me Maybe" video parody phenomenon showing no signs of cooling, one of Maplewood's local businesses has added its two cents (or in this case, stitches).

"Cast on Baby" features folks from , a popular knitting shop on Springfield Avenue, hamming it up for the camera to the tune of the Carly Rae Jepsen song that has sparked copycat videos across the nation.

Since it was posted on YouTube on Friday, the video has been seen by nearly 6,000 people.

"We've been receiving an incredible response through all the social media channels," said owner Meera Kothari Cho, who wrote the lyrics. "It's a great snippet of the Maplewood extended community and of our small business success story on Springfield Avenue."
