MAPLEWOOD PD to Host Prescription Drug Take Back Day
The U.S. DEA is sponsoring a national program to take back prescription drugs and the MPD will host their own event on September 27.

On Saturday September 27 the Maplewood Police Department will participate in a “National Prescription Drug Take Back Day.”
Between 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m., community members are invited to drop off and dispose of unwanted and unused prescription drugs.
The collection will take place at Maplewood Police Department headquarters, located at 1618 Springfield Avenue, Maplewood.

Similar to a gun buyback event, participants will not be questioned. The event will be free and anonymous.
The program was set forth by the U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) and began in 2010. According to the DEA, since the Drug Take Back Day’s began thousands of events have been sponsored in local towns across the nation resulting in roughly 4 million pounds of drugs being taken back.
