Pet of the Week: Penelope

Ruff ruff! Hi! My name is Penelope. Some people call me Penny. One of the nice volunteers at the shelter calls me Penny Lane. She sings a song to me as we go for a walk. Humans are so fun!

I'm a vert sweet and petite girl. I only weigh about 35-40lbs. I have very cute floppy ears too! I'm a young adult, about 2-3 years old, still many years of love to give! I really love people, grown ups and children! I've even met a baby! The volunteers say that I'm very easy to walk, I don't pull on the leash. I do tend to bounce like Tigger when I see another doggie, but that's just because I want to play. I really like playing with other dogs, I tend to be the alpha. What can I say? I'm a girl in charge!

I'm a smart girl who knows how to sit on command, and I really like treats, so you could easily train me to do other tricks too! Im very well behaved. the volunteers take me to events and I even get to go to the park because I'm so well behaved! Why don't you come meet me at the shelter, if you have a dog already bring him or her with you, I'd love to meet all of you!

Penelope is available at the Jersey Animal Coalition Shelter located at 298 Walton Ave. in South Orange. Their hours are as follows:

Monday: Closed
Tuesday: Noon - 7pm
Wednesday: Noon - 6pm
Thursday: Noon - 7pm
Friday: Noon - 6pm
Saturday and Sunday: Noon - 5pm
