St. Rose Of Lima Catholic Church To Welcome New Pastor
The church will celebrate the installation of Fr. Larry Evans II Nov. 27.

St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church will be celebrating the installation of their new Pastor, Fr. Larry Evans II at the 11:30am Mass on Sunday, November 27th All are welcome to attend and light refreshments will be served immediately after the Mass. His Eminence, Joseph Cardinal Tobin, Archbishop of Newark will preside at his installation.

Fr. Larry will be accompanied by fellow priests, parishioners from St. Rose and several religious organizations of various denominations in the area along with his family and friends.
Fr. Larry, a graduate of Bishop McNamara High School in Forestville, MD. went on to receive his bachelor’s degree in Sociology from Fordham University. His graduate studies were completed at Seton Hall University in South Orange Immaculate Conception Seminary School of Theology, where he attained a Master’s in Divinity and a Master’s in Systematic Theology. After finishing the seminary in 1998 as a Capuchin Franciscan Friar, he changed from his Religious Order to the Archdiocese of Newark where he was ordained into the priesthood on May 26, 2001. After several assignments within the Newark Archdiocese, most recently as Pastor of St. Francis of Assisi in Ridgefield Park, he came to St. Rose of Lima Church on July 1st of this year following the retirement of Msgr. Robert H. Harahan.

Fr. Larry is known by many as an insightful, transformational leader with a strong business mind and an outgoing personality. His exuberance for life is a refreshing presence in the parish community as he is referred to by members of his St. Francis parish as “A Pastor of the People”. Fr. Larry has already met with St. Rose families, ministries and committees within the parish. “I always want to be transparent and truthful with everyone because that is the only way I know. I am excited to be here at St. Rose and look forward to working together and moving forward as a family.”
