Today is Recycling Day for all Residents. Remember to have your recyclables at the curb no later than 6 a.m.
Today from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. at the Hilton Branch Library, the Maplewood Health Department will host an Adult Health Program, including blood pressure screening, weight measurement, carotid bruits screening, medication counseling as needed, health counseling and referrals as needed. The Maplewood Farmer’s Market is open from 2-7 p.m. on Springfield Avenue at Indiana Street. The market closes for the season next week, so make sure to take advantage of the fresh local produce, breads and baked goods, herbs, flowers, pickles and olives.
The South Orange - Maplewood School District presents "Parents as Partners" on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. at Tuscan Elementary School. Parents of students in grades K-5 can participate in hands-on, content-based workshops that will help them better understand the curriculum and how it affects their children. Presented by department staff, including Dr. Lydia E. Furnari, Asst. Supt. for Curriculum & Instruction; Kim Beane, Supv. of K-5 Mathematics & Science and Judy Hanratty, Supv. of K-5 English Language Arts & Social Studies. On Thursday, the Humane Society in cooperation with the Maplewood Health Dept. will conduct low cost spaying and neutering from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Maplewood Town Hall, 574 Valley Street.
