As Power is Restored, Colts Neck Reduces Comfort Stations to One

Electric crews were heavily visible in Colts Neck on Tuesday afternoon, as crews worked on roads such as Heyers Mill and Cedar Drive.

But the battle continues in the town. Schools still need power restored, and many are still left in the cold.

"Our private contractors and public works department continue to work diligently to assist the power crews in restoring our entire town as soon as humanly possible," Mayor Jarrett Engel said in an update to residents.

As more power is restored, the township is conserving resources by going from three comfort stations to one.

Residents can stop by for warmth, and to pick up blankes and batteries which have been supplied by FEMA.

"I continue to share in your frustration, as this has been and continues to be a very difficult time for all of us," Engel said. "We will continue to do our house checks and prepare for tomorrow’s approaching Nor’easter. "
