Camelot Rises

The buildings are on the former site of Entron in Marlboro Township, on Route 79.

The first signs of Camelot are now visible. After years of scrutiny, the development is on its way and will contain housing as well as property amenities.

The buildings are on the former site of Entron on Route 79, a property developer Kaplan Companies had to environmentally clean up before building.

Kaplan has similar properties, even named Camelot, in Cinnaminson Harbour, Perth Amboy, Carteret and Hackettstown. The company is based out of Highland Park.

In 2011, Mayor Jon Hornik addressed residents about the facts of the site before the property was approved, outlining the Payment In Lieu Of Taxes agreement with the developer. Hornik said the "PILOT" agreement resulted in a "40 percent reduction in the number of total units than as originally planned for the property."

It's unknown when the first units will be open.
