The Jersey Shore native is releasing 12 new tracks, some of which are outtakes from his albums dating back to the 1970s.

COLTS NECK, NJ – New Jersey rocker Bruce Springsteen is back with some new music, as well as several repurposed tunes from older projects.
Springsteen, 70, who resides in Colts Neck, announced his latest studio album, Letter To You is slated to drop on Oct. 23 via Columbia Records. Produced by Springsteen and Ron Aniello, the album will feature new tracks as well as outtakes (including “Janey Needs a Shooter,” “If I Was the Priest,” and “Song for Orphans”) from his older records dating back to the 1970s, according to Pitchfork.
The 12-track follow-up to 2019’s Western Stars will feature tracks recorded with the E Street Band over a period of five days. You can view his official announcement via Twitter here.

“I love the emotional nature of ‘Letter to You,’” Springsteen, who grew up in Freehold, said in a news release. “And I love the sound of the E Street Band playing completely live in the studio, in a way we’ve never done before, and with no overdubs. We made the album in only five days, and it turned out to be one of the greatest recording experiences I’ve ever had.”
The Colts Neck resident has had quite an active year, between reissuing five albums (The Rising, Devils & Dust, Live in New York City, Live in Dublin, and 18 Tracks) and hosting his own DJ program, dubbed “From My Home To Yours”, on his SiriusXM radio channel. Springsteen also made headlines during a remote concert appearance in May for appearing at a live streamed, no-audience concert with the Dropkick Murphys at Fenway Park in Boston. The performance served as the first concert without an in-person audience at a major arena, stadium or ballpark in the country during the COVID-19 pandemic, according to Consequence of Sound.
