Convicted Police Stalker Facing New Charges in Marlboro

Carlton Griggs was on probation on stalking charges in Pennsylvania when he allegedly threatened a Marlboro officer.

A Lake Hiawatha man is facing more stalking charges in Marlboro Township, after allegedly making threats over the phone to a female detective.

Carlton Griggs, 29 was already on probation for stalking an officer in Pennsylvania.

Griggs was arrested in February and indicted in Monmouth County last week on one count of stalking. The indictment alleges Griggs made threats which put the detective in fear for her life.

Griggs allegedly stalked the detective over the phone with two separate numbers. Griggs would allegedly call the detective pretending to be a female victim of stalking, and would also call from a separate number pretending to be the stalker.

An original investigation including phone record subpoenas revealed Griggs' real name and that he was the owner of both phone numbers, according to the arrest warrant.

An indictment does not indicate a conviction.
