Hit-And-Run 'Seriously Injures' 74-Year-Old Man Biking In Marlboro

The accident occurred Monday morning on School Road East.

MARLBORO, NJ — A 74-year-old man was seriously injured in a hit-and-run Monday morning, Marlboro Police Captain Stephen Levy said.

Police first received calls of a pedestrian being hit by a motor vehicle at 9:45 a.m., Levy said.

According to police, the victim was biking on the Henry Hudson Trail when he was hit by an unidentified vehicle crossing School Road East.

The vehicle fled the scene before police arrived, Levy said.

The victim suffered serious internal injuries from the incident and was flown to Jersey Shore Medical Center in a medivac helicopter, according to police.

School Road East, which was closed from Dutch Lane Road to Buckley Road, reopened at 12:30 p.m., Levy said.

The Marlboro Police Department Detective Bureau and Traffic Bureau are continuing investigation into the crash.
