Background:

Candidates were asked to provide their professional or volunteer information, government experience and personal background.

I’m proud of my professional accomplishments as a successful woman business leader and entrepreneur. I am the chairwoman and CEO of KIV Investments Group of Companies. I have a wonderful family; I have three children with my husband Kamal.

I enjoy giving back to the community and I have participated in various community, education groups and organizations. Currently, I serve on the Ethics Board for Marlboro Township and on the Education Committee, Ranney School, Tinton Falls.

I believe how you work with people is as important as the work you do. Respect, purpose, and goodness are required in addition to achieving results.

Top issues:

Candidates were asked about the important issues in their municipality and to offer ideas on how the governing body might address them going forward.

I’m aligned with my running mates Mayor Jon Hornik and Councilman Mike Scalea on our top priorities for Marlboro.

We need to make sure our residents are safe, and I look forward to joining the Town Council and working with our excellent Police Department to ensure all of us are and feel protected.

I think celebrating our diversity is especially important now. Our diversity makes our community stronger. We should all take immense pride that people of different religious, ethnic and cultural backgrounds chose Marlboro as a place to raise their families.

We need to continue the good work our local government is doing but always look to improve.

Mayor Hornik recently announced the largest road improvement investment to address our infrastructure.

We need to stay committed to keeping Marlboro one of the strongest financial towns in the State, one of only six to have a AAA credit rating.

Finally, we need to continue to find ways to preserve open spaces in Marlboro.
